The cry of being an elderly has always left Gods Hope Foundation in a struggle to uplift the elderly men and women in the different communities of Uganda. Today the poor old men and women struggle with diseases and on the other hand these have to take care of the vulnerable children left under their care. It’s a calling for us all to help these people through their misery.
I am a Congolese by nationality aged 84 years with a disability, I got an accident in 2010 when I was on the way fleeing from my home country Congo to Uganda and I have lived in the camp for 10years. I live with my two grandchildren and find difficulty looking after them due to the old age and disability, I survive only on the monthly support of $6 for each refugee to feed on the whole month provided by United Nations which is not enough to cater for basic needs.
