• Since 57 % of refugees in kyaka II settlement are children, this therefore has got implications on the provision of quality protection, education, health and livelihood services.
  • Children are very vulnerable and face an increasing risk of defilement and other sexual violence before arriving in Uganda; 10 % of the children interviewed in Kyaka II by Save The Children stated they have been defiled en route. It is vital for support and response services to be available and effective in the settlement. Children are still facing sexual exploitation and abuse risks in the settlements.
